Our Platform
Life • Stewardship • Conservation
At Vita et Terra, we believe authentic care for creation flows from three inseparable principles. Like the points of a triangle, each one depends on and strengthens the others. Remove one, and the whole structure collapses.
1. LIFE
Protecting Human Dignity from Conception to Natural Death
Core Conviction:
Human life is sacred at every stage. We cannot claim to care for creation while treating human beings, especially the most vulnerable, as disposable.
What This Means:
Pro-Life Without Exception - We oppose abortion, euthanasia, and all attacks on human dignity.
Human Health as Environmental Health - A truly pro-life environmental movement fights the toxins that harm human development: lead in water pipes poisoning children's brains, PFAS "forever chemicals" linked to pregnancy complications, pesticide exposure causing birth defects, microplastics in breastmilk, abortion pills contaminating waterways, and air pollution affecting fetal development.
Rejecting Anti-Natalism - We refuse the lie that children are a burden to the planet. Families are a gift, not a problem.
Our Commitment:
Every environmental policy must respect the dignity of human life. Solutions that treat people as the problem are not solutions at all.
2. STEWARDSHIP
Responsible Care for God's Creation
Core Conviction:
The earth belongs to God, and we are called to care for it—not exploit it, not worship it, but steward it faithfully for this generation and the next.
What This Means:
Dominion ≠ Domination - Authority over creation comes with responsibility, not permission to destroy.
Communities Know Best - Local communities know their environment best. Solutions should be grassroots, not top-down mandates.
Property Rights Enable Care - Private ownership and traditional land management produce better environmental outcomes than bureaucratic control.
Traditional Practices Drive Good Stewardship - Hunting, fishing, and responsible harvesting are part of faithful stewardship. Hunters and anglers have conserved more habitat than any government program, funding wildlife management through licensing fees and excise taxes while maintaining healthy ecosystems through sustainable harvest.
Practical, Not Ideological - We support conservation methods that work: regenerative agriculture, watershed protection, sustainable forestry, pollution reduction, investments in renewable energy and innovation.
Our Commitment:
We promote environmental care rooted in responsibility and hope, not scarcity and fear.
3. CONSERVATION
Preserving Creation for Future Generations
Core Conviction:
We inherit the earth from our ancestors and hold it in trust for our children. Conservation is an act of love for those who come after us.
What This Means:
Protecting Natural Beauty - Clean air, clean water, healthy ecosystems are goods worth preserving.
Rural and Agricultural Heritage - Farmland, forests, and open spaces sustain both communities and creation.
Fighting Real Pollution - Toxins in water, PFAS contamination, microplastics, industrial waste—these harm both people and planet.
Creation Care ≠ Climate Alarmism - We reject apocalyptic fear-mongering while embracing practical environmental protection.
Our Commitment:
Conservation efforts must serve people, not undermine them. We support the protection of both land and livelihoods, recognizing that strong families and strong communities are essential to caring for creation.
How the Triangle Works:
LIFE without STEWARDSHIP = Exploitation
Treating creation as mere raw materials to be consumed without responsibility
STEWARDSHIP without CONSERVATION = Short-sightedness
Managing resources today without thought for tomorrow
CONSERVATION without LIFE = Misanthropy
Protecting nature by eliminating or restricting human presence
LIFE without CONSERVATION = Wastefulness
Ignoring our duty to preserve creation for our children
STEWARDSHIP without LIFE = Utilitarianism
Reducing everything—including people—to usefulness
CONSERVATION without STEWARDSHIP = Bureaucratic Control
Top-down mandates that ignore local wisdom, property rights, and prosperity
All Three Together:
When LIFE, STEWARDSHIP, and CONSERVATION work together, we build:
✓ Communities where families can thrive
✓ Farmland that feeds generations sustainably
✓ Clean water and air for mothers, children, and all creation
✓ Respect for both human dignity and natural beauty
✓ Hope for the future instead of fear
✓ Authentic Catholic environmental witness ✓ Principled economic prosperity and growth
The Vita et Terra Difference:
Secular Environmentalism says: Humans are the problem. Access to abortion = better planet.
Vita et Terra says: Humans are made in God's image. When we live as faithful stewards, caring for both life and land, we fulfill our calling and heal creation.
This is the vision of Vita et Terra: Life-affirming, creation-caring, hope-filled.
